hi can any give me some info applied to dvsa for role of vehicle standards assessor read all info on role and on internet went for assessment passed exam did some role play but at no point did i have a face to face with anybody about the job do you only get that if they offer you the job and you accept just thought a bit of face to face about role would have gone a long way. cheers

Good luck pvfc. Vehicle assessors are truck testers. The role involves travelling to Testing sites to conduct inspections. You may travel between different sites week to week depending on bookings. You may be working alone or with other DVSA staff, depending on bookings. Work schedules are allocated by laptop nowadays so you will be pretty much self reliant & might only visit your base office once or twice a month.

Am I reading your post correctly? Are you saying that you did not get a face to face interview?

i only got a face to face about the exam i took and then about the role play afterwards it might be just me but i thought i would get whatyou usually get at interview a talk about job role the dos and donts etc.cheers for replys

Times have changed since I joined (and left) - perhaps they will draw up a shortlist for final interview following your assessment day.

I had a panel of 3 -area manager, senior engineer & one from HR.

Hi mate do you know what was asked in the assessment what kind of multiple choice questions and what was asked in the interview?

I think you only get face to face with Dvsa person is at the shortlist ,it may of changed but you should of been told before you get on the shortlist there are a few more steps you have to take ,practice stuff ,more theory tests .

i met one of these testers 2/3 weeks ago in the chip shop he looked if he had been tangoed orange top and bottoms you could not miss him
