duct tape, how much is to much

A friends auld transit is due a mot soon. For a few years now hes been advised on front and rear wheel arch corrosion. Hes considering duct taping the rear arches again this year as moneys tight and it will no doubt fail on sharp edges.

Is there any rules on how much can be taped up, is it ok to tape them up afters its been in for an mot and failed?

I can't comment on how much tape is too much or if it's a fail or not but I will say nothing smacks of bad workmanship more than wrinkles in Gaffa tape.......

No rules on it's use. If sharp edges are covered then there's no sharp edges, so no fail.

There is some who say that there is no such thing as too much duct tape!

Example if knifes and srewdrivers are fitted on wheel arch all the way around would it pass not or would it fail and what reason would u fail it

Not really a fail as such but I would just refuse to test, as it is obviously unsafe to use.

Sharp edges are not due to damage or corrosion so no fail. Refuse to test.
